NEIGHBOURHOODS UNITED: PEACE OF MIND– BY TEXT!

The Neighbourhoods United Community ALARM System allows registered members based in postcode areas to instantaneously ALARM other registered members in times of need by sending just one text message.

A feature of the service is that you don’t have to know names and contact details for your neighbours. Your details will not be accessible to anyone else. The confidential and secure database collates the information when each of your Post Coded neighbourhood community group registers and only sends out ALARMs if any of you text the Community ALARM System at time of need.

How The System Works:

  • You and your neighbours register your names, postal & email addresses, postcodes (creating a username and password) all here on the Neighbourhoods United Website.
  • You will then be set up with the community group aligned with your postcode on the Neighbourhoods United Community Text ALARM System.
  • We will then email you an authentication email along with the Neighbourhoods United ALARM number.
  • Then, the moment a potential incident occurs in your neighbourhood, you text the word ALARM to the Neighbourhoods United ALARM number. The System recognises who you are, which post coded community group you belong to and which other homes are part of your community group.
  • The System then sends out a Community Text ALARM to every registered mobile phone of every registered member within your community group making them aware of the potential incident or problem.
  • You and your neighbours take the measures outlined in the Neighbourhoods United Community Text ALARM message to safeguard yourselves and your homes. Where required contact the emergency services.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Upon receipt of the authentication email you are required to log back into the system using the hyperlink provided within the email and authenticate your registration. At this stage you will also be asked to register up to two mobile phone numbers with Neighbourhoods United. The mobile phone numbers you input will be the only numbers that you can utilise in sending/receiving messages to/from Neighbourhoods United.
